I've been using these 3 new products for a couple months now.
I wanted to get the full feel and use of each of these products before I made a blog post.
Two are products for the face and one is for the body.
I'm not going to explain in detail what each product does.
Rather I will put direct links to their websites that will give you a thorough understanding as well as ingredients.
On my end I will tell you my quick results and what I think of each product.
Let's start with body lotion: Aveeno Positively Nourishing 24 Hour Body Moisturizer
Purchased: Three weeks ago.
Usage: Daily all over. Mainly my legs and feet...especially the heel.
I dislike greasy, oily or even moisturizers that leave your hands feeling sticky and not smooth.
I dislike bottles that tell you they will keep your skin moisturized but don't.
I am thankful to finally have found a moisturizer/lotion that does exactly what it says.
And is good for your skin!
Not filled with chemicals or strong perfumes.
What I like about this moisturizer...
The scent, how smooth it leaves your hand, the after feel of the product once it sinks into your skin.
And most importantly how it doesn't feel greasy or slippery after you've applied it.
I've been a long time user of Aveeno products and have rarely found anything to dislike.
Recently they've come out with new products and I'm eager to try them out.
The Positively Nourishing 24 Hour Body Moisturizers comes in 3 different scents.
And the one I choose - Grapefruit and Rosemary
All three smelled really light and I wanted to throw the other 2 in my cart.
I talked myself out of it in case I didn't like the results.
But now I'm tempted to go buy more Aveeno products including trying out their shampoo/conditioner line.
Second we've got Origin's Have A Nice Day Moisturizer
Purchased: Dec 2010
Usage: Daily in the AM pre-make up.
I must be attracted to grapefruit scents because this moisturizer's has a light scent of grapefruits.
And because of the citrus scent it makes dull mornings better.
I know it's weird but it does wake me up after I've applied this to a clean face.
The texture and weight feels nicely as I can feel it absorbing into my skin.
I leave this on my face for 5 min, get dressed, and apply my make up.
It doesn't work against my liquid foundation...which other products tend to work against making your face feel greasy or heavy.
Instead it seems to pair with different face products nicely.
I also enjoy that it has SPF 15.
Any time I change facial moisturizers I make sure it has some type of SPF in it.
And lastly the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
Purchased: January 2010
Usage: When needed.
I'm on the fence about this product.
It's definitely different from any other acne lotion I've used in the past.
Because I don't experience many break outs (thanks to family genes) over the counter products work for me.
When I feel or see a pimple popping up I will treat it with Clean & Clear.
But with all the stress, craziness, bad diet (junk food galore) the past couple months I had a major break out.
This product is definitely a before-you-go-to-bed product.
You are advised not to shake the bottle.
Instead you take a Q-tip and dip it through the oil to the pink creamy liquid.
Lift out and apply the product to the problem area(s).
First impression... it has a cool tingly yet slightly stinging (not too bad) sensation.
At first it also has a minty scent that eventually wafts away.
The product isn't transparent. Hence why this is a before-going-to-bed product.
It reminds me of Calamine lotion.
Does it work?
I am 90% certain it worked on my pimples.
Why I am an optimistic about this product?
It seemed to take longer for my pimples to go away.
It did dry out the pimples eventually but didn't seem to heal it properly.
I could still feel the pimple under the skin causing it to stick around longer.
I'm going to have to give this product another try to make up my mind.
However, not really looking forward to another pimple in the near future.
I usually try to keep it basic when using face products.
I don't like to use a lot of serums, toners, cleansers or changing my moisturizers often.
If I find something I like, I will stick with it.
Especially when it comes to face moisturizers.
I don't like confusing my face skin or over-doing the face products.
We're all meant to eventually have wrinkles or laugh lines.
It's all apart of growing old and I will allow nature to take it's course.
