Orly Orly Orly!

On Thursday night I Twipic'd a teaser to a mini retail therapy
...and mentioned I would do a blog post Friday on my little gifts to myself.

However, come Friday, work and life took over and then I boarded a plane for Arizona.
But the first thing I did when I got home wasn't unpack!
Here I sit posting my small purchase of happiness.

Let me just go back a couple days... I had a crap day on Thursday!
It was utterly craziness, chaos and just wanted it to be over.
The evening (just like the week) was just as busy but the fun kind.
We dined with Tom, the retired (Feb 2011) Chief of Police, of Amsterdamn, NY who was visiting Lonny's Dad.
Childhood friends as well as ex-band mates growing up in CA until Tom moved to NY.
Having a good meal and hearing dumb criminal stories calmed me down.
After we parted and were walking to my car I noticed Ulta!
Popped in with no intentions to buy anything but just browse, ended up finding 3 pretties and actually scoring a deal.

On with the pretties...

Natural Light

I wish the first 2 colors on the left showed up in true form but my pictures don't do it justice.
For the first shade you can see true colors if you click here.

Orly Cosmic FX Collection

This color is such a vibrant electric blue that has hints of purple and magenta.

Orly Pin Up Collection

I don't have any glitter shades like this (shocking) but instantly had to have this color.
In the past I haven't had much luck with glitter polishes.
But with this version the finish is smooth and full of glitter.
So if you love glitter hands this is the shade for you.

Orly Sugar Coated Collection.

For some reason this shade makes me think of Easter and Easter eggs.
Such a bright and pastel pink but with a hot pink twist...if that makes any sense.

Indoor Lighting

My little purchase of happiness!

Now what deal did I get with these?

Well, I noticed the sign that said BUY 2 GET 1 FREE for Orly & China Glaze products.
Gladly I filled up my hands with the Orly shades I wanted.
Narrowed it down to the three shades I intended to purchase and walked to the register.
Upon walking up to the reg. I realized I forgot my $3.50 coupon at home.
No biggie...I was getting 1 free!
At the register the checker informed me the promotion for Orly/China Glaze products doesn't start till Sunday.
She had a lot of Orly go-backs behind her because people like me thought the promotion had started.
Boo!
But she was kind and offered me the $3.50 coupon discount with my purchase.
She rang my sparkly purchases up and my total came up to around $14 and change.
Weird... Orly polishes range from $10 to the lowest I've seen it at $7.50 each.

Turns out the buy 2 get 1 free promotion worked on top of the $3.50 discount.
It honestly doesn't take a lot to make me happy as I'm generally a happy person.
But that seriously lightened my mood AND wallet.

So I ended the night on a happy note and eventually happy bright nails!
