I'm not a baker.
In fact...after this attempt I realized I have little to zero patience for baking.
But with that being said - these tasty little treats came out yummy.
A bit flat (only 1 came out perfect and round) but not too shabby and the steps were really easy I had to share.
I didn't have time to do a step by step instructions.
But I copied this wonderful & crafty blogger: Little Miss Momma - Cake Pops!
I was too lazy to make my own cake flour so I used the store bought red velvet cake mix & frosting.
These look like large meatballs!
Can't find my double broiler. I think I lent it to a friend who bakes more than I do.
But here is another method to making your own double broiler to melt chocolate.
What NOT to do!
I went to grab a toothpick to test the 2nd cake baking in the oven and knocked over the bottle.
Tooth picks every where.
You'll notice 2 are missing...a total of 3 actually got destroyed.
Ok, I ate one but the other 2 fell apart.
Pretty!
I tried to dry the finished cake pops on the Styrofoam board but that's how I lost 2.
The cakes didn't slid off the lollipop sticks and so I decided to keep them face down on the sheet.
I baked a white cake to make more cake pops but ran out of lollipop sticks.
Tomorrow I plan on making more for friends & family.
I think my favorite part of this wasn't the baking or applying the frosting.
It was tying the ribbons and decorating them.
This just goes to show that I should stick to decor (home) and cooking and leave baking to the professionals!
