I have been over worked with little to no vacation since March.
And I spent all day Saturday (yesterday) confined to my bedroom battling a sinus headache AND small fever.
This cold just won’t go away!
But today, I woke up and the sun was shining and my headache, fever and just sluggishness went away.
I woke and I literally felt motivated to go do something that involved fresh air.
Since Lonny had to work today I called my Mom to see if she wanted to spend the day in Santa Cruz. At first she said yes, but then an hour later changed her mind.
That didn’t stop me from my little trip over the hill to the beach. Instead I charged up the fancy Nikon DLSR, grabbed a water bottle, packed up Colossus and had a mini day date with Colossus.
And it dawned on me…I’ve never taken Colossus to the beach!
So over the hill we went and drove for 25-30 min.
The day was gorgeous which is very unlike Santa Cruz. Usually it’s over cast and foggy with lots of wind. But today was a lovely gorgeous day and I thoroughly enjoyed the sun, fresh salty air and so did Colossus.
We actually didn’t get a chance to plant our feet in sand or on an actual beach.
There aren’t many dog friendly beaches and I didn’t feel like hunting one down.
But he did have fun walking, sniffing and snapping pictures with me.
He also met a couple new dogs along the way.
So onward with the pictures of my beachy day!
(This is a really picture heavy post)
Arriving and driving through downtown.
Santa Cruz Boardwalk rollercoaster on a sunny afternoon.
YOUNGLOVE AVENUE.
How sweet.
The lighthouse (tourist trap) in the distance.
But none the less still pretty.
Gorgeous sparkling water.
Surfers toting their surfboards on bikes on this warm day.
You can always find flirty tanned surfers are found all over.
He caught my attention by grabbing my hand asking me if I would take a picture with him.
I told him I’d rather take one just of him.
He liked that idea.
Wadding around in the chilly water with the Boardwalk in the background.
Colossus enjoying the breeze.
Warning signs every where.
Colossus!
He got a lot of attention today.
This type of art can be found all over.
Kid making his way down to the water.
All in all I had a great time in Santa Cruz.
I got really lucky with the warm weather today.
The next time I will bring Lonny and we can head downtown for lunch & shopping.

It looks so sunny and lovely. I love blogs with lots of pics. The more the merrier I think.
The second picture is my favourtie. I love the trees and the gorgeous building.
Looks like you you had a really nice day.
Colossus lol the little show pony. lapping up all that attention.
Cute.
HAHA Yes...Colossus was definitely enjoying the attention he was getting from people AND other dogs. :) Santa Cruz is full of dog owners walking their 4 legged kids. Then next time I visit I hope to bring him ON the beach. I would love to see how he reacts to sand. :)
So happy the weather was very nice. Although I do love the chilly air it was nice to have the sun on my skin after being sick for a week.
Great pics Charlotte! I'm one of your subbies on youtube. I requested you on twitter, can you accept me. Thanks. =)
@ Lucia - I just added you to my Twitter. :)
Wow, wonderful pictures! It looks like you and Colossus had a lovely day, he looks so cute in his little bed! Albi has one just like it! :)
@Anna - It was a nice little getaway with Colossus. I wish Lon could have gone but he was working. :) Does Albi stay in his bed when you bring it in the car? Colossus didn't. He ended up in his crate on the drive back. The road was too windy on the way back but by then he was pooped out from the excitement of the day. HA!
what a lovely day it looks like you had!! love the pics!!!
@ D- It was a nice relaxing day. Got really lucky with the weather that day.
