I'm going to attempt to bake a Key Lime pie tomorrow evening but needed a pie dish.
I checked my favorite store Crate & Barrel for a cool one.
Sure enough, Crate & Barrel didn't disappoint!
Originally I was going to buy this one for $9.95
And then I considered this tart pan for $15.95
But then I saw this...
And knew this would work out best for me.
And the price is only $6.95!
The porcelain one just was too deep.
It's best for making fruity baked pies.
Since I don't foresee myself baking fruit pies as I despise cooked fruit, I opted for the clear pie dish.
Plus the clear dish can be placed in an oven up to 450 degrees while the porcelain can only go up to 392 degrees.
I was about to pat myself on the back for going in & buying what I went there for.
But like always, got side-tracked and ended up picking up two more things.Thankfully for my wallet it was only $3.95 each.
Two bowls?
Why would I need two small bowls with handles?
Well...
Awhile back Lonny had brought home frozen French onion soup from Trader Joe's.
He knows it's one of my favorite soups and this soup gets lots of raves from his coworkers.
He didn't realize it needs a special bowl or at least an oven proof bowl - something I do not have.
So it just sat in my freezer for months.
Since I was in C&B I figured I'd look around for special oven to table bowls.
And sure enough I found a super cute style for only $3.95 each.
The frozen soup chunk fits PERFECTLY in the new bowl.
Match made in soup heaven!
It was between that bowl and this one for the same price.
I saw this one which is specifically for onion soups but it was too cafeteria like.
And not as cute as the porcelain ones.
Reminds me of the bowls they have at salad bars.
Pretty excited with my recent baking purpose.
I'm trying to teach myself easy dessert recipes and hopefully hone my baking skills.
