Happy 235th Birthday America!
This is where it all started.
The Assembly Room, in which the United States Declaration of Independence and Constitution were drafted and signed, at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA.
Our office was closed to observe Independence Day.
For the most part we were pretty lazy.
The weather was hot (mid 90's) and both Lonny and I had the day off to enjoy together.
We slept in (me 9am & Lon 10ish) and ran some errands around town.
First stop - Anthropologie where I purchased 6 of these Latte Bowls that I've been eyeing for awhile.
Afterwards we popped over to Orchard Supply Hardware to check out their patio sale.
And well...
After finding a set I liked, walking away...in fact, driving away but not leaving the parking lot because I decided I liked the deal, we went back and purchased it.
It will be available to pick up this week some time.
(Hoping sooner than later!)

The chairs swivel and rock back and forth.
It is the complete opposite of patio furniture I want but I had to take a few things into factor.
This is made of 100% cast aluminum which will never rust.
The table I wanted from West Elm (click here) is made of wood.
It would hold up maybe 2-3 years but nothing long term.
I seem to always have the worst luck with wrought iron.
It always ends up breaking after 2-3 years.
Maybe it gets warped by the sun?
So in all I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase.
After nearly 3 years of living here I finally have a patio set!
I may not be a summer gal but once my patio set gets here I'll be enjoying meals under the evening sky.
Came home and appreciate that I live on the bottom floor.
The condo fairs nicely during hot days.

I rarely have to use my AC and all I really need is a fan.
Threw together a nice light lunch for two.
Nothing heavy or solid since it was too hot to think of having anything other than finger foods.
Enjoyed a book and BBQ'd some hot dogs in the evening.
We tried searching for some fireworks. Saw a few going off in the distance but nothing too spectacular.
Hope all my US readers enjoyed a happy and safe Independence Day!
