Wedding Post!

We've always known that our wedding day would be non-traditional and done our way.
A very simple and really no fuss but romantic evening wedding.
Neither of us wanted to task our friends and family with duties or have to spend extra money.
But our main goal was to share our special day with immediate family and friends.
And basically throw one big party after the ceremony!

Details of our wedding...

I receive a lot of detail questions on how I would do our wedding day.
I didn't know the answers until I started visiting Pinterest and Etsy.
Both sites as well as a few wedding blogs have helped me plan along the way.
But also I had to find a venue before I really could plan the rest of our wedding.
We finally found a place and settled on a date in September.
And now all the "little" details can come into place.

Not having a wedding party of bridesmaids and grooms.
Instead we decided our niece and nephews would walk down the isle holding signs.

My favorite non blood related kids Gianna & Logan will hold this...

And Lonny's niece and nephew - Francesca, Vinnie and Haven will hold this...

Lon appointed his Dad his Best Man and my best friends Christine as my Maid of Honor.
But even then they won't have many job duties other than hanging out and visiting venues, fittings and other fun actives.
Day of wedding we want them to enjoy the day and not feel obligated to run around with us.

Since I'm not having a wedding party I have requested my girlfriends NOT to throw me a Bridal shower or Bachelorette party.
Our engagement is so short that I don't want our friends/family spending more money on activities.

Our very good friend Ken is an ordained minister and will be marrying Lonny and I.
The colors I've chosen are a gold, mustard yellow, cream and beige shades.

In place of flower centerpieces which will wither and are pricey I think I may attempt a DIY project.
Manzinita trees placed in pots with crystal garland draped across.
Something simple and not too extravagant.

We want a lot of twinkly lights and candles.

I haven't decided on the flowers for my bouquet but was thinking of yellow ranunculus with a hint of blush colored flowers as well.

For our favor table we're hoping to do a DIY sweets table.

Something New:
Before we found our venue I actually found and ordered my dress.
The designer is from Barcelona and the brand is Pronovias.
Something Borrowed:
My future step Mother-in-law has graciously offered her jewelry.
Not going to lie, when she did it almost made me cry.
Something Blue:
Will be my seamstress stitching my wedding date in the hem of my dress.

We haven't gone cake testing yet so I'm hoping we can do that very soon.
The Event Planner will set up a time and date for Lonny and I to do this.
Mmmmm, can't wait to try and pick out the style of our cake!

So that's our wedding thus far.
I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of wedding posts in the near future.

HAPPY FRIDAY!
