MAC Haul: Spring Colour Forecast

I utilized my Christmas MAC gift card from Lonny today.
And I had 12 empties for the B2M recycling program so I got to choose 2 free items.

I went knowing I wanted some things from the Spring Forecast collection that launched today.
I have seen (studied) tons of swatches & photos on Temptalia's site and took notes of colors I wanted to test.
It's a good thing I didn't order on a whim from the pro site online without testing the colors out.
Cause honestly I ended up purchasing much less than what was on my list.

I'm very particular to a certain type of lipstick.
I dislike the glittery, gritty, frosty texture.
I lean toward the matte, creamy or glaze types.

First I tested out the lipsticks.
(There were my B2M items - I didn't need more eyeshadows)
Out of all the lipsticks I picked Bubble Gum (Glaze) - which I didn't think I would like but ended up loving.
I probably am drawn to this color because it's a glaze formula & not a chalky texture.

And then my 2nd B2M item was Cha Cha Lipglass.
This color was too pretty to pass up.
It's not easily seen in the picture but it has a slight pink shade with a shimmer of fuchsia.

And then I chose the Eyeshadow Quad - Colour 3
I'm not sure if MAC changed their quad packaging but this is a new style.
I love & dislike it.
Love the way it looks.
Hate the way it opens - a bit harder as it's magnetized and I'm afraid I'm going to stick my finger in the shadow trying to open it.

My colors are a bit off because I have crap lighting.

Outdoor lighting - Natural Light.

(Two top colors are washed out - their much warmer in person)

Mink Pink - Veluxe Pearl

Bruised Plum - Veluxe Pearl

Black Tulip - Frost

Jungle Moon - Matte
(Very washed out in the picture)

And the last two items were the Blush Ombres that I couldn't pass up.
I knew I wanted these the minute I saw them.
There are four blush ombres but I only liked the lighter shades.

The photos below are pretty true to the color in real life.

Indoor lighting - Artificial Light.

See the difference in the packaging.
Old VS New(?)

Then I decided to do a comparison between Jungle Moon VS Blackberry eyeshadow since they look similar.

They are still the same but Jungle Moon is a bit darker.

Hand swatch to show you the difference.

So while this collection was huge and the colors were gorgeous...
I just had too many similar colors in my kit to justify spending more of my gift card.

I did test out the Viva Glam Cyndi Lauper & Lady Gaga colors.
I will probably go back and purchase Cyndi Laupers shade.
Lady Gaga's shade looks like Saint Germain & I have that color already.
Plus Cyndi's shade is much more wear-able.

Ah great blog post. I too want the ripe peach blush. So my colours. I discovered on a recent (window) shopping trip that peach/orangey tones are my colours.

@ Holly - Thanks! I wish I had better lighting. Eventually I want to get a little photography area set up so I can take better pictures. But I do love the blushes. I can't wait to use them. :)

@ SOOZ - Thanks Darling!!! I love peachy shades. They had 2 other darker purple & darker peach almost brown shade but I think it would have looked like a giant bruise on my cheeks. LOL XOXO!!!
